The fundamental concept behind "The Ring" is to preserve and promote the historic lighthouse of Murro di Porco.
Noticeably visible in the form of a looping walkway, the ring is much more than an eccentric pathway meandering across the rocky site. It is a collection of strategies executed through the medium of architecture.
The project compliments the main concept via: respecting historic values; introduction and promotion of tourism; provision of leisure activities and supplementing amenities; create and promote conservation awareness; and through the exploration of expandability to benefit a broader community.

"源環" 背後的主要概念為活化富有歷史價值的穆羅迪波爾燈塔。除了保留原有燈塔及小屋的古跡，項目置入了飯店、燈塔資料館、海洋保育中心及咖啡廳等新的機能，讓外地的遊客及本土的社區均能享用。
設計利用一個圓環形走道將不同的建築體串連，讓人們沿著圓環欣賞變換的地勢及海洋景觀 ，並一重一重體驗不同的活動。圓環同時劃分出一個大的中心場所，正正跟意大利傳統的廣場呼應。圓形所賦予的向心性讓不同活動機能得以向圓心發展，使這片硬朗的土地重新成為鄰帶社區的活力源頭。
