With its strong connection with the city center and the historical museum, the extension of Lake Geneva museum is regarded as a symbolic element that marks the edge of Lake Geneva and the character of the surrounding context. The project aims to reaffirm the experience of the lake as a center of excellence in Nyon. The extension opens up its surrounding parks to make it a pivot point where the dense downtown and the tranquility of the lake are articulated.

Taking the specificity of landscape along the site, the project approach the park with a series of roofs that are in line with the site ‘s strong lines of flow, creating a route to  agradual discovery of the museum and its extension.

A folding and interlocking wooden louvers system is adopted widely in the project.  On the façade, it helps to ensure the view to the lake and meanwhile blocking direct sunlight from the exhibition area. The system is used in the boat hall as a feature wall that combines circulation, allowing visitors to have a new detour experience within the museum.
